I’m yet to find anyone quite so driven by weekend exploring as Sydney based Kate Miles. Her Instagram feed is a melting pot of adventures from around NSW and as far afield as NZ & Chile, each image a call of the wild . Here are Kate’s top 5 adventure shots from around NSW for the Microadventure series.

Microadventures with @fluttrgrl 1/5 Cave camping in Kanangra-Boyd NP | "Living our busy and often stressful day to day lives, it’s easy to forget that there is more to life than your career and sitting at a desk all day. That’s why, for me, it’s so important to pull away from that environment whenever I can. To reset perspective and remind myself of what it actually means to be alive." #weareexplorers

Microadventures with @fluttrgrl 3/5 Girls do camp & hike, Brisbane Water NP | "My girlfriends and I often leave the guys at home to head off into the wilderness together. It sounds like a cliché, but it is absolutely character building. There is nothing like carrying everything you need to survive for a few days on your back and vesting your trust in your own ability with a map and compass. I love the emotional impact it has on me. I always come away feeling more independent, resourceful and confident." #weareexplorers

Microadventures with @fluttrgrl 4/5 Road trips with Lara the Landy, Tooloom NP | "There really isn’t anything much that makes you feel more free than a road trip; with the windows rolled down and an awesome soundtrack on the stereo. My husband and I recently bought this beauty. Our intention in buying a 4WD is that it will inspire us to seek adventure every weekend." #weareexplorers

Microadventures with @fluttrgrl 5/5 Exploring the abandoned Metropolitan Rail Tunnel, Helensburgh NSW | "Adventure doesn’t have to mean long drives to get out of the city. If you’re short on time or transportation, Sydney is great for urban exploration. I’m an abandoned infrastructure nerd, but it could also mean eating my way through a suburb I’ve never been to before, or grabbing a couple of friends and walking one of Sydney’s many coastal or harbour trails." #weareexplorers
