What puts the fire in your belly // Epic places and creative, passionate people. Put them together and anything can happen!
Dream location to shoot in Australia // How micro is micro? I made it from the bed to the fridge the other day which is a pretty great achievement for a day off at home. Literally recorded something like 40 steps in an entire day according to the iPhone. Apart from fridge adventures it was great to explore the ole’ rock Uluru late last year!
Next Microadventure // Road-tripping the coast between Brisbane to Cairns is on the cards!
Scariest Moment in the Wild // Probably every time I go out shooting night photography alone. Which is a lot. Actually no, the scariest one was while I was shooting Devil’s Gullet in Tasmania. The sun had gone down but I’d had a long day and decided to sit and chill as it got darker and darker. By the time I had to head back to the car it was completely dark. My phone had died and I had no other form of light…. apart from the flash on my Speedlite. Imagine walking through the pitch black, through the bush, flashing the Speedlite every few seconds while little critters are running around and every now and then popping up directly in front of you like some horror movie. Yeah, probably that one. Later on in the night I stumbled upon what seemed to be a possessed Tasmanian Devil.
One Essential piece of Gear // Maybe a torch from now on.
