Escape to Australia’s Most Tranquil Town // Maleny (QLD)

  • Mind blowing views of Glass House Mountains.
  • Lovely Gardens (Botanic gardens).
  • Waterfall (Gardner’s Falls).

Everyone knows that before any good micro adventure coffee is required! Shotgun espresso is a cute European influenced rustic coffee shop located in the main drag of Maleny. I suggest heading there if you’re after that perfect coffee hit before your adventure.

There is something so magical about freshwater swimming spots. Gardner’s Falls which is located a short stroll downstream of the lush banks of the Obi Obi Creek is surely magical.  The freezing cold water mixed with the peaceful dreamy forest just makes this spot special.  Floating around the waterhole in the calm waters is great for healing away the stresses from the crazy week at work. If you’re after thrills, Gardner’s Falls has a legit tree swing which is pretty epic.

As the sun starts to go down over the waterhole it’s time to jump back in the car and watch the sun go down over the Glass House Mountains.  Forget about heading to a crowded One Tree Hill, I suggest you keep driving west along Mountain View Road or Maleny Stanley River Road and find a nice grassy spot to pull up, or even better head to the magical Botanic Gardens.  On a clear day you can see Brisbane city perched in the far distance which is awesome.  By now the sun is going to sleep and the afternoon sky looks dreamy to wrap up a day of exploring a nook of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

It’s adventures like these that encourage us to take in a big breath and appreciate the life we have.
