Ever wanted to trek to the top of Australia? Keen to raise funds and awareness about mental health? R U OK? has teamed up with the gurus at Huma Charity Challenge, a division of World Expeditions, to combine the two to create an inspiring and meaningful adventure.
R U OK? is all about encouraging people to form meaningful connections with those around them. Their aim is to prevent suicide by supporting those who are struggling and asking a question that isn’t asked often enough: “Are you ok?”
Conquer Kozi for R U OK? began last year; it’s a fundraiser event where teams complete an 18km hike to the 2228m summit of Mt Kosciuszko, but it’s not just about bagging the peak. The walk raises awareness of the often silent issue of suicide and last year received national coverage. Check out the vid below!
The hike is also a great chance to connect with friends, family and other supporters of the cause. Biggest Loser fans can expect to see Steve “Commando” Willis again at this year’s event, he’s an avid supporter of the cause.
Apart from the people, there’s also the a gorgeous hike that delivers whatever the weather. You can expect to see all manner of native wildflowers, historic huts and crystal clear streams as you wind along alpine ridgelines.
The weekend runs from the 9th – 11th of March this year, so click the button below, get your team organised and start fundraising!
While you’re in the area, how about these adventures…?
