Phoebe Peterson’s Explorer Challenge into Ben Bullen State Forest shows you don’t have to travel far from the Sydney to find isolated beauty to call your own for the weekend. Here’s her story:

We ventured deep into Ben Bullen State Forest for the weekend with a few friends from uni, doing some hiking and some wicked 4WDriving! The highlight of the adventure was driving down a remote track to see this incredible view – we got slightly over excited and THEN we realised we could drive out on to the rock and park there! BEST FEELING EVER.

I’d really recommend it, it’s great for hiking, camping, motorbike riding and 4WDriving. There is no clean water for drinking and no toilets so come prepared. However there are absolutely stunning views that make you realise how lucky we are to live in this amazing country.

Next trip? Will be the Otford to Bundeena hike along the coast through the Royal National Park. Really looking forward to it and hopefully we can stop off at Wattamolla (looks amazing but never been).

Don’t forget – if you’d like to share your own weekend adventure in NSW, you can through the Explorer Challenge, which enters you into the draw to win loads of pretty damn cool adventure prizes.
