Adventure Tales is a talk series where a lesser-known adventurer tells their story to a roomful of like-minded outdoorspeople and nature lovers. On the 28th of Feb in Sydney Heather Porter –@thisramblingrover – will be speaking about hiking over 4000km along the Pacific Crest Trail, and what she learnt along the way.
Last year, Heather quit her corporate job, flew to the US and spent almost 6 months thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, covering over 4000km on foot from the borders of Mexico to Canada.
Listen to her journey, what kept her hiking through the bad days, and what it was like to live in the wilderness for so long. Through her story you’ll learn the importance of having your ‘why’ and the role that goal setting plays in adventure.
With food, like-minded adventurers and crisp beers from the legends at Capital Brewing Co. it’s sure to be an excellent night. As always, all profits go to People Outdoors, a charity that helps physically and intellectually disabled people to get out and enjoy nature.
