Ahh the slopes. Nothing but acres of fresh white snow and your skis, and the Milo kids hitting Mach 5, and the family in Aldi kit who skipped lessons to tear up some black runs, oh and the bloody carpark…
Escaping the resort, it’s the dream. Earning your turns through virgin powder is quite simply, the purest way to experience the snow — it’s just you, the slope and your mates in fresh-as wilderness.
Obviously, it’s dangerous out there, and not everyone has a snow-seasoned mate to guide them around. That’s why we’re teaming up with A-grade outdoor gear brand Arc’teryx to bring you A Weekend Of Backcountry.
A Weekend Of Backcountry
This September, we’re inviting intermediate to advanced riders to form part of a group of 25 for two days of guided snow touring, based at the Southern Alps Lodge in Charlotte Pass. The lodge is closed just for this event and accomodation, meals and over-snow transport are all included, so you can focus on digging in your edges.
Avalanche Canada specialists from Alpine Access will school you in avalanche safety, before taking you into the wild to ride some of Australia’s best off-piste locations. All you have to bring (or rent) is your gear.
Get in quick, tickets to this exclusive event seriously won’t last!
